Distinguished Alumnus Award

Since 1965 Buffalo State University has recognized more than 90 alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Through their work, service to others, and generosity these graduates have demonstrated the qualities the college seeks to cultivate in its students.

Nominations for this prestigious award are accepted year-round. Awards are presented in person at commencement. View a list of previous award recipients.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Significant achievement and recognition in his/her field
• Dedication to community service, civic affairs, and volunteerism
• Demonstrated ongoing support for and loyalty to the college and its mission

Please note: Nominations are accepted year-round. Please see the Distinguished Alumni Award Nomination Form to submit your nominations. Awards are presented in person at commencement. Those selected must be able to attend the commencement ceremony in May to be eligible for the award.

To assist the selection committee, please forward any additional material that supports your candidate's nomination and demonstrates his/her achievements (current resume/vita, letters of recommendation, biographical information, newspapers clippings, etc.) to the address shown below. Your personal recommendation and supporting documentation will play a vital role when the committee considers your nominee.
