150th Anniversary of Buffalo State College

Rockwell Hall clocktower lit up at night

Buffalo State College officially launched its 150th-anniversary celebration on September 17, 2021, with a spirited Buffalo State College Day event in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Rockwell Hall. The celebration included music by the African American Cultural Center's Kakilambe Dance and Drum Performance Company, speakers, video greetings from public officials and notable alumni, a short video history of the college, and a local dance troupe performance called the "Sounds, Echoes, and Spirits of Yemaya." Buffalo State alumni Claudine Ewing, '92, anchor at WGRZ-TV, and Matt Bové, '13, sports director at WKBW-TV, served as masters of ceremonies for the event followed by a reception in front of Rockwell Hall.

The College's 150th Anniversary is well underway, with more celebrations for the campus community planned for this spring and summer for alumni. Go to the 150th-anniversary site for information about special events, speakers, performances, athletic competitions, film series, and more.
