About Jacqueline Vito LoRusso
Jacqueline "Jackie" Vito LoRusso is the owner is JVL Management, a rental property management firm. She earned a bachelor of science in education in 1962 and a master of science in education in 1964. She taught in the Maryvale School District and Elmwood Franklin School for many years.
As a student at Buffalo State, LoRusso found a new focus on her childhood love of music through her education. As a teacher, she incorporated this passion into writing and directing school performances, encouraging her students to sing and make music a vital part of their lives. As an alumna, LoRusso became a lead donor during the college's Transforming Lives campaign. Her first significant gift endowed the Jacqueline V. LoRusso Music Scholarship for music students. In recognition of her gift, the college dedicated the Jacqueline Vito LoRusso Control Room and Recording Studio in Rockwell Hall.
LoRusso served on the College Foundation Board from 1993 to 1996 and 2010 to 2018. She received the Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2015 for her professional accomplishments and service and commitment to Buffalo State. LoRusso, a native of Western New York, splits her time between Buffalo and Sarasota, FL. Her generous funding to the Alumni and Visitor Center has helped enable the site to serve as a space to welcome new and returning alumni, current students, and community members to our beloved campus.
