Alumni Association Awards

The Buffalo State Alumni Association celebrates the achievements of alumni leaders for their outstanding professional accomplishments and service to Buffalo State and the community. Alumni recognition awards are presented annually and are often celebrated during Commencement weekend. Learn more about our three awards: Distinguished Alumnus, Senior Service, and Young Alumnus Achievement, and submit your award nomination online.

Distinguished Alumnus Award

Since 1965 Buffalo State has recognized more than 80 alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Through their work, service to others, and generosity, these graduates have demonstrated the qualities the college seeks to cultivate in its students.

Senior Service Award

Established in 2003, the Senior Service Award is presented annually during Reunion Weekend at the 50-Plus Club Reception. This honor is awarded to alumni who graduated at least 50 years ago and have distinguished themselves in college and/or community service in support of the mission of Buffalo State.

Young Alumnus Achievement Award

The Alumni Association established the Young Alumnus Achievement Awards in 2002 to recognize outstanding alumni who graduated within the last 20 years. Nominees must be alumni who have achieved significant professional advancement during the 20 years after graduation and have demonstrated service to the community and Buffalo State.
