Alumni Engagement Support Resources for Campus Departments & Affinity Groups
The Office of Alumni Engagement is committed to supporting campus departments, academic programs, affinity groups, and alumni leaders in creating meaningful opportunities for alumni connection and engagement.
Whether you are planning an event, recognizing alumni achievement, or connecting with graduates through communications and outreach, our office offers a variety of resources designed to help strengthen alumni relationships across the Buffalo State community.
Support & Resources
Alumni Gift & Speaker Appreciation Bags
Our office can provide Buffalo State alumni swag/gift bags for alumni speakers, panelists, and special guests participating in departmental or affinity-based programs and events.
- Requests should be submitted 1-2 weeks in advance by contacting Pam Voyer at voyerpb@buffalostate.edu.
- Departments/groups are responsible for picking up at the Front Desk of the JVL Alumni & Visitor Center.
- Quantities and contents may vary based on availability.
Communication Support
Event Promotion Emails
The Office of Alumni Engagement can assist with targeted alumni email outreach to promote events and programs.
Survey Distribution
We can also support alumni survey dissemination for approved departmental initiatives, accreditation-related data collection, and engagement efforts.
- Requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the intended send date.
- Finalized event details, registration links or instructions, and approved messaging must be included at the time of request.
- Alumni newsletters are distributed through the Office of Marketing and Communications and may require additional coordination and lead time.
Financial Support Opportunities
To encourage alumni-centered programming and recognition efforts, the Office of Alumni Engagement offers limited financial support for qualifying initiatives hosted by alumni-led groups, campus programs, and academic departments.
- The Office of Alumni Engagement must be contacted 3-4 weeks prior to the event to confirm availability of and eligibility of event for funding.
- Events and initiatives should include a clear alumni engagement component or highlight an alumni speaker or honoree.
- Departments/groups must provide a follow-up list of alumni attendees after the event for engagement tracking and stewardship purposes.
- Funding is limited and subject to availability.
