Alumna elected Chairwoman of the Legislative Women’s Caucus

Assemblywoman

The Buffalo State Alumni Association would like to congratulate Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes on being elected chairwoman of the Legislative Women’s Caucus.  For 14 years, she has served New York State’s 141st Assembly district.

Her successes include securing funding for Buffalo Public Schools, Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, the Educational Opportunity Center and other projects.  Furthermore, she has sat on several committees including Higher Education, Health, and Environmental Conservation.  Previously, Peoples-Stokes held the role of Chair of the New York State Association of Black & Puerto Rican Legislators.

A recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2012, Peoples-Stokes graduated from Buffalo State with a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration.  Additionally, she earned a baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education.

Again, we would like to applaud Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes on her most recent accomplishment!  We appreciate all of the work you have done to better our community.
