Panelist Bios:

Andrew Lidowsky

Andrew graduated with a master's in 2014 from Buffalo State’s Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration program. While at Buffalo State, he was a graduate assistant and taught undergraduate chemistry labs as his bachelor's degree was in Biology. He then switched focus to law and graduated with a law degree in 2019 from Hofstra University. Andrew is now a Court Attorney in the Appellate Division, Second Department in Brooklyn, NY.

Kayla James

Kayla graduated in 2020 with a master's from Buffalo State’s Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration program, and in 2014 with bachelor's degrees in forensic chemistry and sociology. As an undergraduate student, she was a teaching assistant for Introduction to Sociology and held internships at the Family Justice Center and Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office. During her graduate studies, Kayla served as an e-board member of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and interned with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the Student Conduct and Community Standards Office, before securing her current position as a career counselor at Buffalo State.

Jessica Darvick Zimpfer

Jessica graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (Birth-Grade 6). She was actively involved across campus as a student but struggled to find a full-time teaching position after graduation. After joining GEICO, Jessica moved her way up into management and has been in a supervisor role for six years now. She says ”What I continue to do each day at GEICO is essentially teaching and although it was not in my plan to not be in a school setting, I am so thankful to have the degree I have, because I am right where I am supposed to be.“
