Alumni Newsletter | Fall 2018

Message from the dean

Dear Alumni,

While I obtained my master’s degree at Buffalo State many years ago, I still remember how the experience opened my eyes to the possibilities of advanced learning and research. My graduate studies at Buffalo State pushed me to study education at the doctoral level.

Buffalo State graduate programs equip students with the knowledge, experiences, and skills to excel in their chosen careers and as researchers, teachers, and practitioners. We also continue to align our educational processes and student learning to better suit the job skills, specialization, and challenges of the future. This fall we introduced three new degree programs—data science and analytics track in multi-disciplinary studies; mechanical manufacturing and technology; and urban education—to better meet the needs of our evolving society. In addition, this fall our M.S. in public relations transitioned to a completely online program to make pursuing a master's education more accessible.

The Graduate School is dedicated to supporting you during your time as a student, and there are many ways to stay engaged as a Buffalo State alumnus. You can take advantage of campus opportunities for  networking, continuing education, and professional development. Let us know if your contact information has changed or submit a 1300 Elmwood Class Note so the Graduate School is up to date with your life and career.

Finally, I invite you to keep in touch and share how the Graduate School can support journey and help sustain your connection to Buffalo State.

Best Regards,

Kevin Miller, Ed.D., Dean of the Graduate School
